The second game was not nearly as good.
The Red Sox lost this game 7-3, despite Nathan Eovaldi pitching during his greatest season. The defense kind of fell apart and Eovaldi really did not have it on this day. He pitched just four innings, giving up seven hits and four runs. He struck out four and walked just one. After him, Darwinzon Hernandez, Yacksel Rios and Matt Andriese all pitched to varying degrees of success.
Boston could not solve Mike Minor. The offense mustered eleven hits, but only scored three runs. Two of the runs were scored on home runs by Enrique Hernandez and Rafael Devers. Devers's homer was an absolute bomb. Hernandez also doubled and J.D. Martinez tripled. Bobby Dalbec had another two-hit games. Martinez and Hernandez also had two-hit games.
