The next trade package was for some 2018 Topps Gold cards:
1. Xander Bogaerts. Lost among all the great shortstops this year is the great year that Xander Bogaerts is having. Bogaerts has already eclipsed his home run and RBI totals from last year with two months to go in the season.
2. Drew Pomeranz. After a 17 win season last year, a lot was expected of Pomeranz. Unfortunately he has not delivered this year. He has been hurt often and ineffective when healthy.
3. Dustin Pedroia. Another disappointment, Pedroia has barely played this season.
There was an unexpected extra card in the package:
2017 Topps Triple Threads Purple David Price. This is a nice-looking card of a player who has yet to really get things going in Boston. After an acceptable year in 2016, he was hurt for much of 2017. He has been decent, if inconsistent, in 2018. Still, a nice card.
