Quick Trade Package

I have slowly been making a few more trades on the forums.  Nothing huge yet.  This was just a quick one with some random base and inserts I needed.

1.  2019 Topps Holiday Metallic David Price.  I am not huge on these holiday releases.  There is little difference between them and the flagship set.  Meaning that there are no four basically identical sets with flagship, Chrome, Opening Day and Holiday and very little that makes them unique other than some slight changes to the design.  It all just feels superfluous.

2.  2019 Topps Fire Flame Chris Sale.  I really liked Topps Fire a few years ago, but the last couple years have been kind of boring.  Plus, the size of the set seems to have decreased dramatically, so a lot less interesting from a player selection standpoint.

3.  2017 Topps Chrome Update Sam Travis.  Travis did not last long with the Red Sox.  They just never gave him much of a shot.  He had a little bit of a look last year, making it into 59 games, but hitting just .215/.274/.382 with six home runs.  At one time he looked like the first-baseman of the future for Boston.

4.  2019 Topps Fire David Price.  I liked Price, even though he did not really live up to his contract.  I particularly liked him in the 2018 postseason when he proved all of the naysayers wrong about his ability in the clutch.

5.  2020 Topps WARriors of the Diamond Pedro Martinez.  The point of this insert set is to highlight some of the biggest seasons by WAR.  Martinez's 11.7 came in 2000 when he was 18-6 with a 1.74 ERA and 284 strikeouts in 217 innings.  His 1999 had better counting stats (23-4, 313 strikeouts), but he was better in 2000.

6.  2020 Topps 1985 David Ortiz.  I kind of liked the 1985 set design.  Maybe it's the big team name plastered across the front.  It was a neat design.  1983 and 1984 were better, but the 1985 design is fine.

7.  2019 Topps Allen & Ginter Gold J.D. Martinez.  Man, Martinez has been struggling this season.  I suspect he will not opt out of his deal because I doubt any other team will pay him more than he is making right now with Boston.  It has been a lost season for Martinez.
