Topps Now Randomness

Today I am showing off a few Topps Now cards from the last two years:

The first card is Jonathan Lucroy.  This is from this year's Road to Summer Camp set.  Lucroy was one of the most talked-about players in Red Sox camp with his attempt at a comeback.  Unfortunately, it did not carry over into the season.  He was part of a trio of catchers and made it into one game as a defensive replacement before the lack of pitching meant his spot was sacrificed.  With his recent release, he is a one-game wonder in Red Sox history.

The rest of the cards are from last year's Player's Weekend special set.  The uniforms last year were all either solid black or solid white depending on whether the team was home or away.  As Boston was away, they got the black uniforms.  The players are all the big stars along with their nicknames: Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers, Mookie Betts, Andrew Benintendi, J.D. Martinez and Eduardo Rodriguez.  And then there is a parallel version of the Devers card.

Topps Now remains an interesting idea, especially as it has expanded into limited sets and inserts.  I still think the pricing is insane, but it is fun to add these.
