Red Sox Trade for Matt Thornton

The bullpen has been in trouble lately, especially with Franklin Morales and Andrew Miller hitting the Disabled List.  So Boston went out and traded for southpaw Matt Thornton of the White Sox.  Thornton is not as good as he used to be, but he still gets lefties out and that is something that Boston needed.

The cost was Brandon Jacobs, a prospect I liked, but that did not seem like he was moving too quickly.  That coupled with the fact that he would have been Rule V eligible made him expendable.  Hopefully Thornton pitches well and makes this worth it.
