Pack Breaks and Mail has Been Slowly Trickling Back In

I splurged a bit on some boxes and packs, picking up value packs of Bowman Chrome and Panini Prizm and a blaster of Topps Chrome and one of those gift boxes of Topps Update that has special Chrome Update packs.  The results for the Red Sox were decent:
1.   2013 Bowman Chrome Risin' Thru the Ranks Matt Barnes.  The only Red Sox card from Bowman Chrome was the only real hit, other than the three green refractors.  Not bad.

2.  2013 Panini Prizm Brock Holt.  Holt could find himself as the utility man next year.

3.  2013 Panini Prizm Will Middlebrooks.  Hopefully we will see Middlebrooks in the World Series, but Xander Bogaerts has been pretty good and can actually draw a walk, unlike Middlebrooks.

4.  2013 Panini Prizm Blue Nomar Garciaparra.  Nice Nomar hit.  He was of course a favorite of mine in his Boston days.

5.  2013 Topps Chasing History Wade Boggs.  The only card from the Update box from the Red Sox.

So the Prizm was a great buy with three Red Sox, including a parallel, out of 15 total cards.  The Bowman Chrome was a good buy as well, one Red Sox out of 12 cards.  The Topps Update was okay, but the Topps Chrome was a bust.

I don't know if I have mentioned yet that I have been working on moving.  So with that comes the added frustration of forwarding mail.  Many of my forum trades have been delayed greatly in arriving.  Some have finally started to trickle back in.

The first trade was a two-for-two PWE trade:
6.  2013 Topps Emerald Jacoby Ellsbury.

7.  2013 Topps Emerald Felix Doubront.  Always happy to get a Doubront, though I have concerns that he will be traded soon.

Next, I bought a few cards from someone which knocked off one of the Top Ten Most Wanted cards:
8.  2007 UD Masterpiece Carlton Fisk.  I always enjoy cards of Fisk portraying his 1975 World Series Game 6 walkoff home run.  I should figure out how many of these I have.

9.  1974 Topps Carlton Fisk.  This is the card that was on my Top Ten.  I never knew how many great pictures were in 1973 and 1974 Topps until joining the blogging community.  I had a book with pictures of all of the Topps cards for the Red Sox and this is the only Red Sox card from those two years with a decent action shot.  It's kind of annoying how few decent cards there are of the Red Sox from those years.

10.  2006 Upper Deck Special FX Purple Julian Tavarez.  Tavarez was really crazy.  He and Alfredo Aceves and Vicente Padilla should have been in the bullpen together at some point.  I bet opposing hitters would think twice about charging the mound.

11.  2005 Upper Deck Classic Carl Yastrzemski.  I have been on a Yaz kick lately.

12.  2008 Donruss Threads Century Legends Carl Yastrzemski.  See?

  1. I have an extra 2013 Topps Chrome Mike Napoli. You can have it (do you need any of the other base cards from that set?) Just send me your new address and I'll get it out to you.
